About Us

The Phyllis Rose Dance Company was founded by the late Beatrice Wolff Anderson and Phyllis Rose in December, 1969 and incorporated not-for profit in May, 1971, under the umbrella of parent company: DANCE VECTORS INC.

The Company produces multi-cultural programs for audiences of all ages, providing performances, dance and movement workshops, residencies, staff development workshops and seminars.

The Company has toured New York New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, and Minnesota.

The Company has received grants from The Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council (SEMAC), APOGEE (New Jersey), The Kohlberg Foundation (NY) and The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA).

COMPANY MISSION STATEMENT

Founded in 1969, the primary mission of THE PHYLLIS ROSE DANCE COMPANY is to provide arts in education experiences in dance, music and folklore to young audiences, via performances and workshops.

We stimulate and expand the art form and knowledge of dance, music and folklore, and we stimulate and promote cultural awareness and the appreciation of and for: dance, music, folklore, tradition, and history of diverse cultures from around the world.

THE PHYLLIS ROSE DANCE COMPANY, produced by DANCE VECTORS, INC. is committed to arts-in-education, to furthering teacher capacity, to excellence in programming and execution, and to bringing dance and movement programs with great verve, energy, excitement, and information and knowledge, to all audiences in general, and to young audiences in particular.
